Detailed Description
Primus Jointer Plane Primus hand planes manufactured by E.C. Emmerich of Germany have bodies made of select European beechwood with lignum vitae soles. An all-steel mechanism adjusts position and tension on the cutter.
The size and beauty of this substantial tool make it one of the ultimate expressions of E.C. Emmerich's craft. It's 23-5/8" long and 3-1/8" wide, with a slick tight-grained lignum vitae sole joined to its beech body with Emmerich's usual stunning precision. The iron, 2-3/8" wide, features mechanical fine adjustment of cutting depth, and the chip-breaker incorporates a lever for tuning the iron parallel to the sole. It's an outstanding specimen of the planemaker's art. Weighs 7.4 lbs.
