In addition, because removing and applying blade tension is so easy, the maintenance job to release

blade tension for periods when the saw is not in use becomes a breeze.

The Acme threaded rod has fewer threads per inch than the OEM rod, so the Spinner moves the bandsaw wheel further with every

revolution. The rod end that bears on the saw's frame is ground with a conical point to reduce rotational friction, while the
extra thick precision brass nut helps disperse stresses on the threads.

At 13-1/2" long, the Acme rod positions the handwheel well clear of the upper wheel shroud of the saw, providing plenty of clearance to achieve a quick-paced spinning motion. The handwheel and crank handle are heavy cast iron
with a chrome polish.

    Please Note:

The Spinner Bandsaw Tension Cranks are intended to fit older Delta/Rockwell 14" and Jet 14" saws

    WITHOUT

a factory equipped quick release tension lever. Usually you would bang your knuckles against the side of the upper wheel
guard during the process. Then Delta and later Jet decided to extend the tension knob above the upper wheel guard to prevent this from happening. Unfortunately, during
the process, Delta changed their hand knobs from a comfortable cast iron four prong shape to a most uncomfortable design which wasn't user friendly nor ergonomic. JET
opted for mushroom shaped knobs which are comfortable but too small for my hands. Both are time consuming when one changes out blades on the machine. So during the past
several years, we here at Iturra Design have offered several different versions of our Spinner tension adjuster. During those years the Spinner has undergone a multitude
of improvements as we strive to offer the best possible product to our customers.

This year we have come up with three different versions which hopefully will appeal to all woodworkers. The only difference between the three is the selection of the
handle used. Common to all three versions is the 3/8" diameter fully threaded Acme rod which measures a full 13-1/2" long. The rod is now threaded the full length in order
to accommodate JET and Grizzly band saws using their own quick tension release. Also, this threaded rod is now made from high-strength alloy steel which prevents flexing
under high tension loads. The greatest improvement on the original design has to be the use of Acme thread on the tension rod, which tolerates much more pressure without
  stripping out.

We also include a much more robust square tension nut as well. It's now 3/4" thick and made from solid brass, matching the Acme thread of the rod (original
is less than 3/8" thick and made from steel). The original threads on the rod were 3/8-16 which indicates a 3/8" rod with 16 threads to the inch. Our new Acme 3/8" rod
has 12 threads to the inch which means it will take less rotations of the handle to obtain the same tension level. This makes adjusting blade tension faster. For this
year we went a step further and now provide a precision fit between the brass nut and the tension housing. We have seen examples of where corners of the standard nuts
either round off or damage the interior housing which eventually leads to the housing cracking and failing to hold the nut stationary. Since the Delta housing is different
in size than the JET and similar imports, we offer two versions. The new precision fit brass nut was increased in size from 5/8" to 3/4" in thickness to disperse the
stress over a greater area. The rod tip is now ground to a perfect cone point which reduces rotating friction, making tension adjustment easier.

   All four versions retrofit
all Delta/Rockwell, Ridgid and Sears Craftsman 14" band saws. Plus all JET and Grizzly 14" cast iron band saws without a factory equipped quick tension release lever.
They also work on band saws using the Carter Products Quick Release. For newer JET and Grizzly saws equipped with a factory supplied quick release tension lever, order
the Retro-fit Kit which comes with the additional Acme spacers needed to use these OEM tension adjusters.

This is the Spinner, it features a solid 5" solid cast iron hand wheel which has a polished chrome plated finish, it also has 3" chrome plated steel swivel handle.

-->
