Sorby 1/2" Spindlemaster

The Spindlemaster is Sorby's highly successful design for between-centers turning combining the versatility of a gouge, the fine finish of a skew and the ease of use of a shear scraper. The tool's underside is rounded for smooth travel and well balanced cutting. The top surface is completely flat, with as much cutting edge as a skew or side-ground gouge, but with very little chance of catching in the work. A long gently rounded nose with very shallow bevel angle makes it easy to sharpen, and lets you use the Spindlemaster for cutting beads, coves & square shoulders as well as planing surfaces smooth.
