ups at that time. Please check back to our website for updates. We look forward to offering our classes again

Saturday, July 18, 2020 from 10:00am to 3:00pm
Demonstration Class
If you've been dreaming of paddling lazily along backwaters and lakes, enjoying nature to its fullest and
listening to the calming sounds of water lapping against a wooden hull that you built yourself, let this
class be the first step towards realizing the dream of launching your own, hand crafted canoe.
In this seminar, master canoe and kayak builder Carley Abner, will share his building insights, including
pitfalls to avoid along the way, so you can more confidently begin (and finish successfully) your first strip
canoe project. You'll get a stem to stern overview of the complete build process: choosing plans and
planning, wood selection, mold & hull construction, epoxy mixing & fiberglass lay up, sanding and
fairing, gunnels and thwarts, seat choices, and embellishing using visual symmetry of materials, inlays
and outlays. So bring pen, paper, camera phone (and a brown bag lunch) so you can capture the wealth of
information Carley will share for helping you jump-start building (and paddling) a canoe you can truly
call your own!
