Similar to a Wedge Tongue & Groove, this bit is used to join boards along the long grain. The profile increases the glue surface area and makes the joint self-aligning. One bit cuts both sides of the joint. After centering the bit on your stock and setting your router table fence even with the small diameter, you run the first board face side down and the second board face side up.
