Here's My Workshop!

My shop is located in historic downtown Corydon, Indiana. It is currently 15' wide by 33' long. There used to be a shed attached in the back, so I tore down the wall in between the shop and shed and made a bigger space. I have another building where I keep my dust collector and air compressor to keep out the noise. I heat and cool my shop with a 32,000btu gas heater in winter and a 10,000btu window unit for the summer.
I got started in woodworking around 2008 while being off work recovering from back surgery. After a few weeks of sitting around the house I had to do something and a return to work wasn't in the cards yet until I was cleared by the doctor. I had a buddy that had retired from Ford Motor Company and was a full-time cabinetmaker. I was very inspired when I saw his shop and the tools he had. I have learned a lot from him over the years and I believe he has learned a bit from me. I like to spend as much time as I can in the shop between work and 2 young kids. One day I hope to retire and work in the shop full-time but for now I'm happy with what I have and the time I look forward to spending in my shop.
