Highland Woodworking played host to master woodwright Roy Underhill in Atlanta on a recent October weekend, entertaining hundreds of woodworkers attending our annual Fall One-Day Sale.
After demonstrating his signature shaving horse and (foot-powered) treadle lathe in the middle of the store, Roy put woodworkers young and old to work on them so they could experience firsthand the joys of what was once considered high-tech woodworking.
While working at the shaving horse himself, Roy seemed particularly impressed with the quality and performance of our new Auriou drawknives, noting workmanship features that he felt were superior to those of similarly-priced premium drawknives.
Unaccustomed as Roy is to using power tools, his curiosity drove him to test the effectiveness of our SawStop tablesaw's blade brake mechanism when the blade encounters a southern fried chicken leg, a test never before tried anywhere.
