Here's My Woodturning!

Something simple, easy, and artistic. I had three limbs of an old olive tree in my garage. Too small to make a bowl, and not of much use to a guy who usually makes larger sized bowls.

The wood was destined for the firepit. The idea of doing something in three's is not original for sure. The design was simple - I just let the wood grain and bark do the talking.

The picture shows the end result. This project was such a lark that I didn't even sand the finished product. One coat of boiled linseed oil and I called it good.

It sits on our dining room table and when I get bored with it I simply move the pieces around a bit and turn them to create a different look.

Here is a picture of some olive wood cut down in my neighborhood last year. I really like olive wood. Lots of character. Perhaps this might become another piece that would fit in with the olive vases.
