Here's My Workshop!

Here are a few pictures of my shop. It's constructed entirely from Red Heart Swamp Cypress. I spend most of my time making pens and Turkey Calls. We attend quite a few arts and craft shows locally.

The shop is two stories - I do my woodworking on the first floor and use the 2nd for storage and drying.

My lathe is a Powermatic 3520-B "The Mustard Monster" and is truly a joy to use! Most of my other equipment is located around a central support beam for ease of access.

A few years ago I began making pens and game calls and spent my time predominately on lathe work. I've since branched out into custom damascus hunting knives and walking staffs in addition to my turning.

The staff work required the construction of a steam box and it takes up some additional space, but is invaluable for the process.

I utilize many types of foreign and domestic woods, pine cones, antler, horn and ivory. Each of my items is unique. Probably as a result of having ADHD, I try to never make the same item more than once. My customers really appreciate that their purchase is truly "One of a Kind"!

I do some custom work, but Arts & Craft shows, as well as Gun & Knife shows are my main focus.

This "Shop in the Piney Woods" is truly a refuge for me, and there's no place on earth where I would rather be!
