Here's My Stuff!

Attached are photos of a bookcase cabinet that I built for my wife to store her collection of
cookbooks.
The cabinet is made from highly figured walnut which I purchased rough sawn and hand planed the
surfaces for use in the bookcase. The drawer sides and the shelves are made from curly maple, as are
the pulls that I made. I handcut the half-blind dovetails for the drawer front and the through
dovetails for the drawer back. The drawer bottom is white oak with hand beveled edges.
The door panels, side panels and the back are all made from fielded raised panels. I used
raised panels on the back so that the case could be used in a room with the back exposed.
The case is 74" tall, 24" wide and 14" deep.
I finished the case with two coats of Waterlox Original and three coats of Waterlox Satin, all
applied by rag.
