Here's My Woodworking!

The chest shown above is just a beginner piece with some blunders and not the best finish, but the wood is so nice you don't even look for the problems.

I started woodworking about two years ago after buying my first table saw to do a home project.

Then I decided I had to use it to build something else since it was so expensive.

After buying the table saw, I needed more money to buy more woodworking tools so I sold my oil lamp collection. Yes, I was hooked. Let's see... what else around here is worth a stack of wood?

I generally just read magazines and books and then try to figure out the way things are done. I don't really know anything about furniture but I like to build it!

Glen Huey's furniture books have taught me just about everything I know. I love the old style of furniture. Wood is what inspires me.

This is my latest project, also from Glen Huey's book: An 1840's Shaker sewing desk - a total woodworking work out.
