These broad hatchets will take on the roughing, shaping, hewing, flattening & smoothing of your logs and timbers. With a bevel on one side (approx. 25 degrees) and the other side flat, you can work the tool at a low angle like a big chisel. Blade edge length is 5 inches. The back of the pol to the cutting edge measures 6-1/4 inches . A finger recess in the beard lets you choke up your grip for detail work. The 15-1/2 inches overall length still allows for close-spaced, two-handed gripping. Nail pull slots located on pol and beard. Weighs 2.7 lbs. Premium Hickory Handle. Includes leather sheath.
