Norton Axe Sharpening Stone
Norton's Axe Sharpening Stone is the ideal field companion for your favorite axe - an easy way to sharpen an axe on the go or in the shop and light to carry. This puck-shaped, combination stone has a coarse abrasive on one side for establishing an initial edge on the axe and a fine side for improving that edge. At only 3" in
diameter and 5/8" thick, it won't take up much room in your pack or toolbox. The round shape is easy to grip and follows the curvature of your axe's bit quite nicely. Norton's Axe Sharpening Stone is made of silicon carbide (carborundum), Norton Crystolon, so for best results, use with any (yes,
any
) light oil for lubrication and to keep the stone from clogging. When sharpening an axe we recommend working the stone from the side of the axe head towards the cutting edge. Lift it on the return stoke to avoid injury.
