Leigh Finger Joint Templates

Finger joints (box joints) are strong, symmetrical glue joints for corner assemblies. They don't have the mechanical strength of dovetails, but the large glue area provides for a strong joint.

Leigh's Finger Joint Templates are precision CNC machined from aluminum alloy. Each comb can be used to rout multiple sizes of finger joint, depending on setup. (See the charts below).

All three Finger Joint Templates are available in inch & metric versions. Metric Finger Joint jigs require metric router bits. We do not carry metric router bits.

The eBush Concept

Joint fit is easily and precisely controlled using Leigh's patented elliptical guidebushes. When rotated, the active diameter of the elliptical barrel increases or decreases, allowing more or less wood to be routed away. Fit adjustments, made with the included pin wrench, are possible in increments of .001" up to a maximum of .020". Perfect box joint fit is guaranteed.

F3 Finger Joint Template for Leigh 24" D-Series Dovetail Jigs

The F3 template fits the D4R Pro, D4R, D4, D3, D1258R & D1258 dovetail jigs. It has three joint combs and can make 14 sizes of box joints (11 standard box joints and three half-blind). Work pieces are clamped vertically in the jig. Tails must be offset from sockets and this is accomplished by moving the template, not the work piece. As the template is shifted from one mode to another, a stainless steel locating pin locks the template precisely.

F18 & F24 Finger Joint Templates for Leigh Super Dovetail Jigs

The F18 Finger Joint Template fits the Leigh Super 18 Dovetail Jig. The F24 fits the Leigh Super 24 Dovetail Jig. Each has two joint combs and can make eight sizes of box joints (six standard box joints and two half-blind). Work pieces are clamped vertically in the jig. Tails must be offset from sockets and this is accomplished by moving the template, not the work piece. As the template is shifted from one mode to another, a stainless steel locating pin locks the template precisely.
