Leigh RTJ400 Router Table Dovetail Jig

Leigh's RTJ400 Router Table Dovetail Jig is a precision joinery jig that partners with your router table for unparalleled material handling ability and ease of use. As router tables have become an increasingly important tool in many small shops, it is a natural fit for Leigh to innovate a dovetail jig designed specifically for use on your router table.

The versatile RTJ400 is an excellent solution for accurate routing of through dovetails, single pass half-blind dovetails, and box jointswith built-in features for superior joint fit adjustment and an adjustable side stop for precise workpiecealignment.

Working as a precision clamping sled with fast acting cam clamps, the RTJ400 securely holds your stock, while being fully supported by your router table, as you slide the jig's CNC aircraft-grade aluminum template to reference on the included template guide mounted into your router table. The elliptically designed template guide can be easily adjusted to tune your joint tightness to within athousandth of an inch. An adjustable sidestop built in to the jig allows precise board set-up and alignment of rabbeted half-blind dovetails for drawer fronts.

The jig comes with bits to make 1/2" wide through dovetails in stock up to 1" thick, 1/2" half-blind dovetails, 3/8" & 3/4" box joints & 3/8" half-blind box joints.

With the Accessory Kit , the RTJ400 makes 9 sizes of through dovetails in stock 1/8" to 1" thick, 3 sizes of half-blind dovetails & 4 sizes of box/finger joints in stock 1/8" to 1" thick & up to 16" wide. Though this jig has fixed spacing, it will cut half-pitch through dovetails & half-blind dovetails & create half-blind 3/8" finger joints.A fully-illustrated User Guide is included along with five Quick Reference instructionstrips.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to use the RTJ400 Dovetail jig, your router table's router plate (that your router attaches to) MUST have an opening or a snap-in ring that is sized to accept a "universal" style template guide. (The universal-style template guide is based on the decades-old type guides made by Porter Cable and Black and Decker). The opening should measure 1-3/8" in diameter, so it can accommodate Leigh's guide bushing that comes with the RTJ400 jig. Kreg's Precision Router Table plate comes with an insert ring to accept the universal style template e10 guide bushing that Leigh provides with the RTJ400 Jig. Router tables made by Festool are not designed for table mounted template guided routing.

NOTE: The RTJ400 jig is NOT compatible with the Bosch RA1181 and RA1171 Router Tables, because you cannot mount a universal style template guide into the tables.
