The Drawsharp is a collaboration of some of our favorite people in woodworking. Benchcrafted makes top quality vise hardware and Mag-Blok magnetic tool bars. Peter Galbert is a renowned Windsor chair maker who teaches all over the world, including at our store. He has years of experience using and sharpening drawknives. He worked with the craftsmen at Benchcrafted to develop a simple, precise jig for sharpening drawknives to a fine edge.
The Drawsharp guides on the back edge of the drawknife and sharpens the cutting edge with diamond and silicon carbide abrasives. The jig has two sides - one for honing the bevel side of the drawknife, the other for honing the back side of the drawknife. You can switch quickly from bevel edge to the back edge without changing settings because each side sets up independently.
The Drawsharp comes packed in a convenient metal can with full instructions and enough abrasives for many sharpenings.
