Lie-Nielsen Chipbreaker

Although designed to replace and improve the performance of the blade assembly in Lie-Nielsen planes, these new chipbreakers will fit most Bailey and Bedrock pattern planes.

L-N chipbreakers are made of High Carbon Tool Steel and carefully ground with a .015" lip at a 1° angle, which provides positive contact with the blade and eliminates chip clogging. The .125" thick plate adds mass to the iron, which helps dampen blade chatter. Comes with a knurled chipbreaker screw, which will accomodate thicker after-market irons.

  • 1-3/16" chipbreaker for #1 planes
  • 1-5/8" chipbreaker for #2 planes
  • 1-3/4" chipbreaker for #3 planes
  • 2" chipbreaker for #4 and #5 planes
  • 2-3/8" chipbreaker for #4-1/2, #5-1/2, #6, and #7 planes
