Powdered pumice stone abrasives are de rigueur for traditional French Polishing. They're the traditional choice for rubbing out and polishing all kinds of other finishes as well. Pumice polishes final finish coats to a semi-gloss sheen after they have been scraped or sanded flat & smooth. We offer 4F and 3F grades. Both are used with a rubbing lubricant such as mineral oil or mineral spirits. Use Ultra-fine Rottenstone after pumice to rub up to a high gloss.
Mesh Grit
- Rottenstone powder is approximately 400 mesh
- FFFF pumice stone powder is approximately 200 mesh
- FFF pumice stone powder is approximately 160 mesh
