These extra large 3" x 8" x 1/4" flat diamond stones are ideal for fast, general-purpose sharpening and can accommodate wide bench plane irons with ease. The stones may be used dry, but will work more efficiently and resist clogging if you spray or squirt water on the surface as you work for clearing away the metal swarf from the stone's surface. Wipe diamond stones dry after use to keep the metal plate from rusting. Scrub occasionally with abrasive cleanser to remove packed-in swarf and to keep the stones working optimally.

  • Blue - Super-Fine(81SF) = 1200 grit
  • Red - Fine(81F) = 600 grit
  • Purple - Medium(81M) = 400 grit
  • Black - Coarse(81C) = 250 grit
