Flush trim bits are straight cutting router bits that use a guide bearing to follow the exact shape of a template. Top bearing bits(Whiteside calls them "Template Bits") use have the bearing on the top(shank) end of the bit. They are used with the template on top of the workpiece.
Note: Top bearing flush trim bits are limited in size by the requirement for the bearing to fit on the shank of the bit. The shank must be smaller than cutting diameter.

Whiteside Machine Company was founded in 1970 in Bill Whiteside's basement where he supplied tooling to NC's huge furniture making industry. Whiteside is still family-owned but has now grown to occupy a 40,000 square foot factory in Claremont, NC.
