Veneer tape is used to hold veneers together before gluing to the substrate. Our 3/4" wide x 0.002" thick gummed veneer tape is made with 34 gram paper. Wet the tape before applying it to your veneer joint. Veneer tape can be removed from the workpiece by sanding, scraping or re-wetting the tape after the veneer is glued to the substrate.

Types
  • No hole tape is solid all the way across and provides maximum hold.
  • Two hole tape has two rows of holes down the length. It's a little easier to remove than no-hole tape when sanding or scraping.
  • Three hole tape has three rows of holes down the length - one in the center. Use the hole to make sure your veneer is still lined up when taping.
Three hole tape can also be used on the glue side of veneer - eliminating the need to remove the tape. The holes provide plenty of glue surface to hold the veneer in place. We don't recommend this because veneers are so thin these days that the tape pattern may show through the veneer.
