Class Description
The Dutch tool chest is a highly portable, slanted-lid storage solution designed to hold a complete kit of woodworking hand tools. Historically used by traveling tradespeople, the chest build is a great opportunity for an intermediate or ambitious beginner woodworker to work on their hand-cut joinery skills while building a “forever home” for their tools that won’t take up a lot of space. Characterized by its understated utility, the chest possesses a refined aesthetic that allows it to function as a sophisticated interior furnishing as effectively as a primary workshop fixture.
With a primary focus on hand tools, this class will involve cutting dovetails, cutting dado joints, beveling edges, mitering panels, and cutting rebates. So, if you’ve been looking for an opportunity to up your hand-tool game, or you just want to give hand tools a try, this is the class for you.
