Class Description
The Maloof-Inspired Rocker Class is a 6-day intensive course that covers advanced techniques like bent lamination and specialized joinery. Students learn using specialized router bits for the Maloof Joint, specialized jigs, then take their partially completed projects home for final shaping, sanding, and finishing.
Key points about the course:
- 6-day class involves building a Maloof-inspired rocking chair
- Bent lamination work
- Sculpted joinery
- Maloof housed rabbet joint, which give strength to this joint
- Myriad of shaping techniques!
Please bring the following items with you to class:
- 4 Inch Square
- Rasps – G(grain) #5, 9, 10 & 13
- Tape Measure
- Angle Grinder 4 Inch
- Saburr Tooth "Donut" Carbide Wheels - fine and coarse
- Respirator (some type of dust mask)
- Marking gauge
- Cordless drill
For your safety, be sure to wear closed toe footwear and remove all jewelry before class.

Class Cancellation Policy
Highland Woodworking reserves the right to cancel any class. Full refunds will be issued in that event. Students withdrawing from this class must notify Highland Woodworking 14 or more days prior to the beginning of the class to receive full credit or refund. No refund or credit will be issued with less than 14 days' notice.
