  • We provide all tools and materials. If you have your own tools you want to work with, feel free to bring them.
  • Class includes a lunch break. You can bring your lunch or eat at one of the restaurants in the area.
  • This class takes place at our store in Atlanta.

Overview 

Ever wanted to try out spindle turning but didn't know where to start? This is an amazing introduction class for you with our teacher Randy Archer. Randy will walk you through wood turning fundamentals and how to make safe cuts. Then, you're assigned to a lathe with a full kit of tools and you make your own unique wooden mallet for your shop! This is a great class for a true beginner or maybe a bowl turner who wants to try out a spindle project. 

For your safety, when attending a hands-on class, be sure to wear closed toe footwear.

Optional list of tools to bring with you: 

  • Pencil
  • Any lathe tools you own and prefer to use
  • Tape Measure
  • Dial Caliper, and other calipers you would rather use
  • Comfortable Eye Protection
  • Dust Mask

CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY

Highland Woodworking reserves the right to cancel any class. Full refunds will be issued in that event. Students withdrawing from a class must notify Highland Woodworking 10 or more days prior to the beginning of the class to receive full credit or refund. No refund or credit will be issued with less than 10 days' notice.

For labor intensive or multiple day courses, we reserve the right to issue special refund stipulations which will be noted in the class advertisement at the time of posting.
