Detailed Description
Hamilton Toolworks 4 inch Cherry Marking Gauge
The wild black-cherry wood with hand-rubbed oil/varnish finish, the brass inlays and
the sliding dovetail beam construction are all easy to fall for, but at the heart of this
tool is a cryogenically heat treated blade of 1095 spring steel with a hardness of
RC60-62. Hand honed to 8000X, the blade has a fingernail grind shape that excels scribing
in both grain directions, while also helping pull the fence tightly against the stock.
The 3-inch wide, low profile fence design slides on the 4 inch beam and extends 3/8 inch below the
blade, letting you scribe lines on most stock as it lays flat on your bench. Maximum fence to
cutter setting is 2-7/8 inch. Made in USA.
