Resisthane Plus is Hydrocote's premier finish for furniture, architectural trim, or practically any other indoor application where a clear finish is called for. Resisthane Plus offers exceptional performance, striking enrichment of wood's color and depth, flawless adhesion, and remarkable durability.
Resisthane Plus goes on as clear as water and then stays that way; it will not turn yellow or darken over time, even when exposed to sunlight. It does more to enhance the beauty of wood than many other water-based finishes. It has not a hint of cloudiness, no cold bluish tone, and no inertly plastic appearance. It deepens the color of dark woods such as walnut or mahogany, and goes on light-colored woods without yellowing their creamy color. Highly figured wood in particular acquires a great sense of depth, with light and dark areas reversing as point of view changes, creating a wonderful impression of seeing down into the wood.
Application
Resisthane dries to touch (goes tack-free) within twenty minutes or less after application, and it's usually ready to re-coat within one hour. It sands readily between coats, serving quite well as a self-sealing finish without needing a separate first-coat sanding sealer. It flows out beautifully; it's so forgiving that spraying is nearly foolproof. Once cured, it's so tough that it is approved by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturer's Association, whose standards define the best commercial finishes.
One of our guys here at the store, with considerable experience in commercial cabinet shops, put it this way, "I put Resisthane Plus in my $30 gun and shot it just like nitrocellulose, and though I really didn't expect much, it worked like a charm. It looks so good and sets up so tough, I'm sold on it." If you're not already a fan, give it a try. Odds are you'll find yourself with a brand new favorite finish.
Options
Hydrocote Resisthane Plus is available in Gloss and Satin sheens in quart, gallon and 5 gallon cans.
NOTE: While sold as a spray finish, Resisthane can be brushed on using a good quality foam brush. Do not drag the brush against the rim of the can after you load the brush, as this would introduce bubbles. Instead, dip the brush into the finish, then pull up and tilt to let the excess run off, then lightly touch the corner of the brush against the rim to stop dripping.
