Sound engineering, massive cast iron construction (except in the 3 inch sizes which are stainless steel—ideal for green wood), and precise machining & balancing make these plates the most rigid and reliable on the market. Massive 2-1/2 inch diameter center hubs are 1-1/2 inch deep for totally stable mounting on your lathe spindle. Four thick ribs buttress the full length of the hub and tie it to the plate's rigid 1 inch deep outer rim (on 6 inch and larger plates).
