Here's My Workshop!

I build split cane fly rods and our shop is set up for that purpose. Some of the equipment is custom made, but many items are purchased through stores like Highland Woodworking. Matter of fact, our next purchase will be a two speed band saw, and it will probably be ordered from Highland, along with some of their bandsaw blades. The saw will be used for sawing bamboo to length as well as for cutting other materials.

We specialize in the art of handcrafting custom split bamboo fly rods for fly fishing. Our bamboo fly rods are not only a perfectly balanced fly fishing tool, but also a visual work of art.

This is just a hobby business. With the amount of time to complete one rod (60+ hours) I would go broke!

The pictures of the shop were taken after I cleaned it up; it is not that clean at the moment due to the nine rods we have in the works. It took a year of work to convert this building into a workable shop!
