Bench Brush
The Marshalltown No. 829 is not your traditional workbench brush. For starters, rather than a horizontal handle, it features a vertical handle, similar to a paint brush, which allows you to direct more downward pressure on whatever you are sweeping away. Particularly effective in getting dust or chips out of nooks and crannies that traditional brush struggles with.
Unlike the horse hair/synthetic bristle mix you find in most workbench brushes today, this brush features Tampico fibers. Named after the Port of Tampico in Mexico, these fibers are harvested from a variety of cacti that grow in the region. They are more rigid, elastic and coarse than your standard workbench brush, which makes them great for removing a variety of detritus. Another benefit of these vegan friendly fibers is that the bristles hold their shape longer and return to form after intense shop clean up sessions.
As an added benefit, Tampico fibers are quite absorbent and can be used to remove liquids like water on a wet log you want to clean up to resaw, a spilled drink in a pinch, or even freshly floated cement. Just make sure you let them dry out before sweeping them across your cast iron tables!
Made in the United States.
