Many of our projects involve precise, close up work which requires a steady hand and best performed in a seated position. Also, when working hard in the shop you sometimes need a break, but stools and chairs can end up just getting in the way.

Benchcrafted has come up with an excellent solution based on a classic swing seat design from 100 years ago when they were very popular. The Benchcrafted Swing Away Seat stays conveniently tucked under your workbench until needed when it can be swung out to provide comfortable seating. When you get up, it can be easily swung back out of the way. These attractive seats' usefulness are not limited to the shop, but could also be great in other areas of the home.

The heavy duty mount and bracket are cast in gray iron and powder coated in a satin black finish. The pivot pins that join the mount to the bracket are steel with a black oxide finish. The Swing Away wooden seat is finely crafted of quartersawn white oak and it is finished in chestnut lacquer. It is 7/8" thick and 11" in diameter. You have the option of purchasing just the hardware in case you would like to make your own seat.

Important: Be sure to carefully read the Installation Instructions to insure you get the correct hardware, and to securely and safely mount the Swing Away Seat. The mounting hardware is not included.
