Dog Hole Drilling Set - 3/4 inch
This set includes a 3/4" hardened steel bushing and 1/2" shank (3/4" dia.) high-speed steel drill bit for drilling dog holes in most workbenches.
The bushing helps you make an accurate dog-hole drilling guide using any 1 1/2" thick board. Knurling on the bushing provides a mechanical lock when installed in an appropriately-sized hole (1" for the 3/4" bushing), and a projecting rim ensures that it rests perpendicular to the jig's surface.
Note: The 1" drill bit needed to drill a hole for the bushing is not included.
Made from high-speed steel, the included drill bit is not subject to burning, and stays sharp about 10 times as long as carbon steel bits. The polished flutes give superior chip clearance, and the sharply defined lips have a slight negative rake angle on the lip tips to score the hole perimeter for clean entry and smooth sidewalls. Equally important, this bit is extremely accurate in diameter. Drill bit has a 1/2" dia. shank and is 6" long with 3" of fluting.
