Hock Plane Iron with Chipbreaker for Wooden Planes
Examples of Krenov style Planes
Ron Hock developed these plane irons for use when making Krenov-style wooden planes . Made of 3/16" thick O-1 high carbon steel, they don't flex or chatter and will take and hold fine edge. Blades have a 30° bevel and come complete with a chipbreaker and screw.
Hock Krenov-type plane irons are available in 3-1/2" length for standard plane designs and 4-1/2" for larger plane designs.
Straight edges irons are for standard planes. Radiused irons are for use in curved bottom planes. The edge is curved on a 4" radius.
Important Note!
These blades are not for use in metal bodied
planes like Stanley, Record, etc.
We offer a
complete line of Hock plane irons
(with chipbreakers and without) for traditional metal-bodied planes.
