iGaging Digital PlaneCheck Gauge
In setting up a hand plane to take fine shavings, its important to be able to "read" the depth of cut by sighting down the sole and visually checking the protrusion of the cutting iron through the mouth opening. Some folks get it and some dont — and some just cant see well enough to interpret what they might be reading.
iGaging makes a tool to eliminate the guess-work. The iGaging Plane Check easily checks cutting depth and confirms that the iron is parallel to mouth opening. The tool has a magnetic base that holds tight to the bottom of the plane and reads cutting depth and parallelism along flat or convex cutting edges with an accuracy of 0.001".
As with other iGaging tools, this new digital gauge is simple, convenient and affordable. The PlaneCheck introduces precision and repeatability to a process that reduces micro-adjustments and iterative test cuts to save time, avoid frustration and help you become more productive.
