This premium brace has a three jaw chuck and and can take heavy duty use. It will handle the heavy work of of boring for mortises and the precision of drilling in tight spaces for chair spindles. Traditional square-shank bits seat securely in a square hole in the bottom of the chuck and are held firm by the three jaws, which can also hold standard round shank bits. The steel body of the brace is nickel-plated for a long rust-free life. The ratchet gearing can be switched for drilling (or driving) in forward and reverse. Knob and spin handle are black plastic. Knob diameter is 2-13/16″. OAL of the brace is 14-1/2″.
Three jaw chuck holds square shank bits and round shank bits 5-13mm (3/16" - 1/2")" in diameter. The three jaws will also grip hex shank bits.
