Striking Knife
Using a striking knife to create lines (as opposed to pencil or scribe lines) has several advantages: knife lines are easy to carry around corners, aren't subject to smudging, don't tear out across grain, and create a shoulder for chisels or saws to register against. This striking knife is made in the ideal format: the flat back helps the knife run true along a straightedge, and the 55° spear point means you can knife along either the right or left side of a square, and reach into tight corners. The hardwood handle is rounded for comfort. An indispensable shop necessity. 6-3/8" long.
