Temple Tools Timber Framing Saw
Temple Tool's timber framing saws are loosely based on traditional Japanese Maebiki "whale-back" saws. They retain the bent handle which enables aggressive sawing, but the blade it smaller and thinner so it's easier to handle. Both the rip and crosscut versions feature progressive tooth pitches - the teeth start out fine and get coarser as you move down the blade so it's easy to start, but you can still cut quickly.
The 15" long blade is made form SK85 Japanese tool steel and has impulse hardened teeth. The handle is made from Japanese wingnut wood which is stained dark brown. Rattan accent wraps provide enhanced grip.
