Tormek Stropping Paste

Tormek provides a tube of toothpaste-like honing compound with the sharpener. Treat the leather wheel with a little mineral oil before applying the paste. One paste application lasts approximately 5-10 tools, depending on use. Reapply the oil and compound once the coating has worn away. To avoid rounding over a sharp edge, let the heel of the tool's bevel touch the leather wheel first, then lower the cutting edge until it just kisses the wheel. Strop lightly for five or ten seconds, then strop the back of the tool just as carefully. Do not allow the honing compound to dry out, add a little more oil while stropping if needed. And now, handle that tool with care--that edge is Tormek sharp ! Included with Tormek T-8 & T-4 Sharpening Systems. Approximately 3000 grit.
